This page explains what information Gilfoyle Electrical Services collects through this website and how it is used. The enquiry form sends us what you type, our hosting keeps standard server logs, and Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie notice. Rejecting them changes nothing about how the site works.
Who we are
Gilfoyle Electrical Services (“we”, “us”) runs this website to show what we do and let you get in touch. Any question about your information: email george@gilfoyleelectrical.co.uk.
What we collect
If you send the enquiry form, we receive what you enter: your name, phone number or email address, roughly where the job is, and what needs doing. That's it. The form sends nothing you can't see in its boxes. If you'd rather not use a form, phone, WhatsApp and email all work and collect nothing beyond the conversation itself.
Separately, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site running securely. We don't use those to identify you.
How we use it
To reply to you and sort your job. Nothing else. We don't sell your information and we don't share it for anyone's marketing. We keep enquiry details for 12 months from our last contact with you, then delete them, unless we're working together by then or the law requires something kept longer.
How it's handled
Gilfoyle Electrical Services is responsible for your information. SortedMate provides the enquiry-form backend and processes what you send purely on our behalf, to deliver it to us; enquiries are stored in the UK and EU. The site itself is hosted by Vercel, a US company, so its server logs may be processed in the United States under the UK-approved safeguards Vercel certifies to (the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses). If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation happens within WhatsApp under its own privacy terms.
Cookies
One first-party cookie remembers your cookie choice for six months. Everything else is optional and set only if you accept it:
- Analytics: Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga and _ga_…, kept for up to two years) so we can see which pages are visited and how people found the site.
- Advertising: Google Ads sets its own cookies (_gcl_aw and _gcl_dc, kept for up to three months) so we can see which of our Google adverts lead to enquiries. If you reject these, the adverts still show; we just can't tell which one brought you here.
Both are Google services, so the data they collect is processed by Google, which can include the United States. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit what we do with it, object to how we're using it, or hand it over in a format another provider can read. Email george@gilfoyleelectrical.co.uk and we'll sort it within a month, free of charge.
If you're not happy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
